What’s the difference?
Antiperspirants use aluminum, which is designed to block the pores of our skin, stopping us from sweating. However, perspiring is one of our main ways to release toxins from our system. Frankly, we need to sweat - we just don’t want to smell bad.
Saint New York deodorant contains no aluminum. The formula is designed to allow you to sweat naturally, controlling odor with plant-derived odor fighters.
What do you mean by clean ingredients?
Because the formula is on your body for long stretches of time, and because your skin absorbs what is on it, you want to make sure that the ingredients are not known to cause side effects or irritation. A clean ingredient formula is one that is sensitive to your skin and the natural functions of your body.
Like aluminum, parabens are also common in most mass-produced deodorants and antiperspirants. Normally they are added to products as a preservative. Parabens are synthetic chemicals and in some cases have been shown to cause hormonal imbalance. We do not have any parabens in our deodorant.
Triclosan is used to reduce or prevent bacterial contamination and is classified as a pesticide by the FDA. Triclosan is an antibacterial linked to antibiotic resistance. There is no triclosan in our formula.
Saint New York deodorant is also free of baking soda, dea, gluten, stereaths, sulfate, talc and tea. It is a unique hypoallergenic formula that is safe for all skin types.
Overall mass deodorants and antiperspirants are cheap for a reason. They are made with low cost ingredients that in some cases have been linked to illnesses.
